The refurbishment of a Grand Union Canal towpath between Hemel Hempstead and Kings Langley has been officially unveiled.
A ceremony for the towpath, which runs from Nash Mills to the River Gade Lakes, took place on Thursday, November 2.
Works began in April and saw an 800 metre stretch of path resurfaced and bushes and trees cut back.
The ceremony, in which a ribbon was cut, was attended by Dacorum councillors and other partners, with Hemel Garden Communities, Three Rivers District Council, Nash Mills Parish Council and Kings Langley Parish Council all contributing to the project.
Cllr Sheron Wilkie, of Dacorum Borough Council, said: "“It’s been wonderful to see the results of this joint effort to upgrade the canal towpath between Nash Mills and King’s Langley.

"The works will allow more people to safely use the path for leisure or if they commute between the areas by foot or bike.
"It’s a great addition to the area.”
Cllr Sarah Nelmes added, of Three Rivers District Council, added: "“I am delighted that this key section that links Nash Mills, Hemel Hempstead and Kings Langley has seen much-needed improvement works.
"Not only does the new high-quality surfacing bring health and wellbeing benefits, but it also enables residents to enjoy their walks by the canal even more."
