Heroic staff members at a Waitrose in St Albans sprung into action last week to stop the theft of thousands of pounds worth of alcohol.
Between 3.15pm and 3.45pm on Saturday, November 4, the alcohol was loaded onto a trolley at the Waitrose in Ermine Close before being pushed towards the exit by the potential offenders, who made no attempt to pay.
According to PC Ryan Coyle, who is investigating, "the goods were recovered by brave members of staff, who initially challenged, then chased the offenders in an attempt to apprehend them".
Police officers have now released CCTV images of three men who they believe may be able to help their enquiries.
PC Coyle said: "We believe these three men were in the shop at the time and they could have important information that may help the investigation.

“We appreciate the quality of the images could be better but I am hopeful that someone recognises them by their clothing, in particular their hats."
PC Coyle is asking anybody who recognises any of the men pictured to email him at ryan.coyle@herts.police.uk, quoting crime reference 41/88266/23.
