Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre has been named as an excellent facility by an external assessor.
The Everyone Active-run facility was awarded the accreditation Quest, the UK’s Quality Scheme for sports and leisure.
Quest conducted a rigorous inspection and key management were interviewed as part of the assessment, which is designed to measure how well a facility is operating and how effective organisations are across a range of topics.
Lesley Garner, centre manager, said: "We are delighted that Westminster Lodge has been classified as ‘Excellent’.
" Everyone in the team at Westminster Lodge is committed to offering top-level service and expertise, and giving as many people as possible access to our high-quality facilities and huge range of activities, so this really means that all their hard work has paid off.
"We just want to encourage everyone in the area, regardless of their age or ability, to become more active, more often, and this award recognises that we are being successful in that mission.
"I am incredibly proud of the team for what we’re achieving on a daily basis, because it really makes a difference to people’s lives."
Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre achieved a record-breaking 100,000 visits in January 2023 and has a membership base of over 6,000 regular visitors.
The facilities include am upgraded 200-station gym, group exercise studios, children’s soft play area, café, and crèche, three swimming pools, a four-court sports hall, a 29-bike studio, a hot yoga studio, and four group exercise studios, offering 120 classes a week in dance, aerobics, weight-lifting, circuit training, boxing, yoga, HIIT, Pilates and spin.
