As Halloween draws near, plenty will be picking up a pumpkin to carve for spooky season.
Here's five pumpkin patches across Hertfordshire that you need to visit.
1. The Pop Up Farm - Flamstead
A family-run and family-friendly farm just off Junction 9 of the M1, The Pop Up Farm patch is spread across 12 acres.
The form offers day tickets costing £3.95, and evening tickets costing £11.50, with live music, food and a bar.
So grab a wheelbarrow, a hot dog and get pumpkin picking.
2. Hitchin Lavender - Hitchin
In the summer months, Hitchin Lavender's expanse of fields is full of colour and bathed in sunlight, but October sees a big change.
The site is orange as far as the eye can see, with pumpkins available to pick for just £1.50.
"Since spring, we’ve been busy tending to a whole host of home-grown pumpkins, which are now ripe and ready for picking from our new patch," reads their website.
"Perfect for any upcoming Halloween party or carving session, our gourds and squashes come in all shapes and sizes."
3. Willows Activity Farm - St Albans
Pumpkin pickers heading to Willows Activity Farm this month can look forward to a jolly gourd day out as the leisure attraction near St Albans kicks off its annual Pumpkin Festival on October 14.
Lyssa Elster, chief executive at Willows Activity Farm, said: "We are launching the Pumpkin Festival on the weekend of October 14 and 15, to give families an extra weekend to get their pumpkins picked and to get into the seasonal adventures with a full day of pumpkin-tastic fun."
For those who want to leave it a little later, the patch is also open from October 19 to 31, with every paying child able to pick a pumpkin each.
4. Cammas Hall Farm - Hatfield Broad Oak
Pumpkin pickers can head to Cammas Hall Farm up until October 29, and it's their biggest patch yet.
There will be 60 varieties of pumpkin and squash to choose from, and there are attractions too, with Halloween characters, Wicked Walkways with haunting props and a Terror Tunnel for the truly brave - recommended for children aged 12 and up.
5. Church Farm - Ardeley
Located just outside of Stevenage, Church Farm will be hosting their Halloween Spookfest from October 21 to 30.
You can pick your own pumpkin, as well as plenty more to see and do, including the Spooky Farm Trail to see all the farm animals & Halloween décor and a Scarecrow Trail.
The perfect Halloween half-term day out for the family.
