Drugs have been recovered during a number of stop and searches on the Alban Way.
Several discarded NOS cannisters were also found on the former railway line, which runs from Hatfield to St Albans, during patrols yesterday (Thursday, September 14).
Public feedback regarding "overt drug use" and anti-social behaviour (ASB) on the public footpath, caused Hertfordshire police to conduct a number of high-visibility foot patrols which led to the discoveries.

Two people were also stopped, having attempted to ride e-scooters along the path.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Yesterday (Thursday, September 14) officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted high-visibility foot patrols on the Alban Way (in) Hatfield and the surrounding area, after feedback from the public around overt drug use and Anti-Social Behaviour at the location.
"During the patrols drugs were recovered following a stop search, several discarded NOS cannisters were located and seized and two people were stopped attempting to ride e-scooters in the location."
