Herts police are searching for a man after a recent distraction burglary in St Albans.

At around 5.45pm on Wednesday, August 23, a mobile phone was reportedly taken from one of the rooms at Dental Specialists on Victoria Street.

Hertfordshire Constabulary has now released an image of a man they would like to identify following the incident.

PC Georgia Holmes, investigating, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and we are appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch.

“In this incident, it is reported that the suspect covered a mobile phone with a piece of paper, before taking the item and leaving the building.

"We would urge anyone to remain vigilant when leaving personal items visible, and to be aware of any similar methods of distraction when out and about.

“We are also releasing this CCTV image because we believe the individual pictured may have been in the area at the time and could assist with our investigation.
