Scarecrows representing Elton John, Bowzer from Super Mario Bros, Barbie, Postman Pat, Guns & Roses, Shaun the Sheep and Gandalf were all displayed outside residents' houses.

The competition has been running since 2002, when founder Peter Milson introduced the idea to the village.

Since then, the festival has been raising money for charities and the village's church every year, other than those affected by COVID-19.

Last year, the event raised £18,000 for good causes and the Friends of St Leonard’s.
