Decisions on whether to allow the construction of 135 new St Albans homes on Green Belt land are set to be made tonight.
Two planning applications for new dwellings will go before St Albans City & District Council's planning committee from 7pm this evening (Monday, August 14).
One of which, would see up to 95 properties constructed on land near Watling Street.
Forty per cent of the development would be affordable dwellings.

One resident, Karen Schmidt, commented: "We don’t need a development there, the traffic already is bad and this will just add to it!
"Please think of the green space too, find somewhere else to build.
"I can’t see what positive impact this will have."
This application can be viewed on the St Albans City & District Council planning portal, quoting reference 5/2022/0267.
A second application, for up to 40 dwellings, is also being considered.
This development would be located on land that is to the north of Boissy Close, near the Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School.
Car and cycle parking, landscaping and "associated works" are also included in the plans.

Jo James commented on the application: "The lane cannot cope with anymore traffic. Heavy lorries go up it following their sat nav from the A414.
"They either go over the bridge which has a weight limit on it or turn round and go back.
"The school buses, school pick up, access to Oaklands College, Fleetville and St Albans and residents all add to the traffic in a lane that was built as a lane.
"Forty houses is way too many for that plot of land and there are no flats in Colney Heath Lane, so it's not in-keeping with the area."
This application can be viewed on the St Albans City & District Council planning portal, quoting reference 5/2022/2557.
