A 16-year-old boy has sustained a black eye and scratches to his neck after he was reportedly assaulted by five unknown teenagers in a St Albans park.
The incident occurred at around 6.40pm on Wednesday, June 14, in Clarence Park, and police are now appealing for witnesses and information.
PC C-Jay Callaghan, who is investigating, said: "This was a distressing incident, and our enquiries are continuing as we look to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
"Were you in the park at the time and saw what happened? A number of parents tried to intervene and help the victim, and we are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward and speak with us."
