Tributes have been paid to former Hemel Hempstead councillor Ian Laidlaw-Dickson, who has passed away at the age of 75.
Mr Laidlaw-Dickson died on June 1, having served as a county councillor for Hemel Hempstead North East from 1993 until 1997, and then for Hemel Hempstead North West from 1997 until 2009.
He was also a member of Dacorum Council, representing Adeyfield East from 1979 to 1987, and chairman of the Herts Police Authority for five years, receiving an OBE for services to the police in 2009.

"Ian worked tirelessly for the benefit of the community through his diligent work on the county council and he is a great loss to our county," said chairman of Hertfordshire County Council, councillor Terry Douris.
"Not only did he serve his constituents so well, but he also dedicated much of his spare time to working with the voluntary sector to build and support those less fortunate."
A service to celebrate Mr Laidlaw-Dickson's life will be held on a soon-to-be announced date.
