"Changing customer trends" has been cited as the reason for the closure of a popular St Albans restaurant.
Café Rouge, on Holywell Hill, has closed its doors for good following the end of its lease.
The restaurant was part of the Big Table Group, a collection chains which also includes Bella Italia and Las Iguanas.

When approached for comment, a spokesperson for the Big Table Group told The Herts Advertiser: "We review every site to ensure we always have the right offer in the right location, and with the lease ending, we decided to close our St Albans site due to changing consumer footfall trends in the city.
"We’re sorry for any inconvenience this will cause and ask locals to visit our website to find their nearest location.”
