The Abbey Theatre will be transformed into a dowdy Philadelphia convent next month for St Albans Youth Music Theatre's Sister Act: The Musical.
Based on the beloved 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg, the musical tells the story of lounge singer Deloris, who witnesses a gangland hit and has to hide in a convent as part of a witness protection scheme.
The musical features an "electrifying" score composed by Alan Menken with lyrics by Glenn Slater.
St Albans Youth Music Theatre's production is directed by Emma Barry - her second show as director for the group - with choreography by Nicola Martinus-Smith and musical direction by Christine Wakely.
The production includes immersive elements which are not being revealed in advance to surprise the audience.
