The St Albans Chamber Opera Company will put on a production of Mozart's The Magic Flute at the Abbey Theatre this month.
In the opera, Prince Tamino is enlisted by the sinister Queen of the Night to rescue her daughter Pamina from the high priest Sarastro. The prince and princess undergo trials and tribulations, but eventually triumph.
Meanwhile the bird-man Papageno finds his love, Papagena, and they celebrate with an aria.
The Magic Flute is directed by Peter Jones, with soloists, chorus and orchestra conducted by David Ireson.
