Young actors from The Company of Teens have been selected to take part in a National Theatre festival.

Members of the Company - which is based at the Abbey Theatre in St Albans - will perform (Circle Dreams Around) The Terrible, Terrible Past, which was written by Simon Longman and commissioned specially for the National Theatre Connections festival.

National Theatre Connections plays tell stories about humanity, which aim to challenge young actors to experience life in someone else's shoes.

An Abbey Theatre spokesperson said: "This script explores the way human existence goes forever on in circles.

"The audience and actors experience the surreal dream together, with no apparent way out.

"The Company of Teams is proud to have been selected again as one of only 300 youth companies taking part in this annual festival."

Performances will take place at 8pm from Thursday, March 9 to Saturday, March 11, in the Abbey Theatre studio.
