A nursery school manager from St Albans has become the "best version of herself" after achieving her dream weight with the help of Slimming World.
Liana Marenghi, a nursery school manager had decided that "enough was enough" after her decision to quit Slimming World six years ago to lose weight on her own did not pan out the way she expected.
Over time, old habits crept back in, and at the end of 2021 Liana could not recognise herself.
The 33-year-old said: “My high fat, high sugar snacking had got me back in to a place where I didn’t even recognise myself, having nearly regained just over half of what I’d originally lost.”
Liana decided to rejoin her Potters Bar group as she did not want to "continue to listen to all the excuses anymore" and let life get in the way of achieving her health and weight loss goals.
The nursery manager said: “The whole experience can be so overwhelming to someone joining but I would like to thank my group so much, they kept me so motivated, and it was so great being surrounded by such amazing supportive people every week.”
Growing up in an Italian household, Liana said she loved that nothing was "off limits food wise".
She followed a food optimisation plan which meant there were no restrictions, with a Slimming World version of every single dish out there.
“I have always loved home made food, so I love to batch cook food and be prepared no matter what temptation is around me,” she added.
Some of her favourite dishes include carbonara, chilli con carne, paprika chicken orzo and aubergine lasagne.
By September 2022, Liana had achieved her dream weight, of being 4st 5lbs lighter in total, losing 2st 3lbs between February and September.
“Now that I have hit the target, I am currently the lightest and happiest I have been in such a long time," Liana added.
"I would also like to thank Mel for reaching out at a time when I didn’t even know I needed it. I truly feel like the best version of myself, and I couldn’t have done it without the support you get from the Slimming World family."
