UKIP’s St Albans branch has selected a parliamentary candidate to represent them in the 2015 general election.
Chris Wright, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, was chosen to contest the city’s seat next year at a recent hustings event.
The 63-year-old, a relative newcomer to politics having joined the party in 2013, said: “It’s an honour for me to have been selected by the St Albans branch to represent UKIP in next year’s elections.
“The voters in St Albans will be aware of the impact that UKIP is having nationally; to quote Nigel Farage ‘UKIP is changing the face of politics’ and it is my intention to do that for the good folk of St Albans.”
