A man in his 50s had to be cut out of his car after it overturned in Flamstead this morning (Friday, July 3).
Crews from Markyate and Redbourn were called to reports of a person trapped in a car in Chequers Hill at 7.16am.
After finding a car on its roof, they used specialist cutting equipment to release him.
A spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust confirmed that a paramedic, an ambulance vehicle, ambulance and air ambulance attended the incident after being called at 7.16am.
The man appeared to have suffered suspected fractures to his leg and was treated at the scene by air ambulance paramedics for pain relief but taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital for further treatment by land ambulance.
A spokesman for Herts Police confirmed that road closures between Chequers Hill, the junction with the A5 and Singlets Lane and Delmer End Lane, are currently in place while the driver’s red Ford Fiesta is recovered.
