A documentary focusing on mental health issues among professional cricketers enjoyed a special screening at The Odyssey.
The Edge, produced by St Albans local John McKenna, looks at the rise of the England cricket team from 2009 to 2013 and the mental strain put on the athletes to become world number one.
Stacey Turner, founder of the It's OK To Say mental health awareness campaign, saw the film, and said: "In a modern world where we are all working hard to inspire people to talk and admit pressure, difficulties and seek help, it was handled delicately and respectfully. It was refreshing, the players were open and honest and I really hope this inspires others.
"You could have heard a pin drop throughout the entire cinema. From the moment it began, it pulled you in and grabbed your attention.
"After the screening, I had the opportunity to chat with producer John, who explained how the players were happy to help him achieve his goal of highlighting mental health and wellbeing through a sport held so precious to many."
England spinner Monty Panesar, who attended the screening, added: "It was great to be involved with this film about my sport and a topic so close to my heart, and it was fantastic to see it on the big screen."
The Edge is available to order on Amazon and iTunes with chosen charities benefiting from all profits.
