All the things you thought you knew about dinosaurs are probably wrong.

For example, instead of being green and scaly, they actually almost all had feathers.

And instead of making terrifying, ferocious roars, they sounded more like garden birds.

Ben Garrod, from the BBC show Attenborough and the Giant Dinosaur, gives clues to the real nature of these prehistoric beasts in an interactive children’s show coming to St Albans next month.

So You Think You Know About Dinosaurs? can be seen at The Alban Arena on Saturday, March 4.

From bizarre facts about Brontosaurus to random points about raptors, this fantastic family event promises to leave children on the edge of their seats and take adults back to their youth.

Did dinosaurs eat their own families? Was every Tyrannosaur a fearsome carnivore? Why did the Allosaurus headbutt its prey to death?

With the help of TV film footage and photos of his own paleontological dinosaur digs, Ben will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about dinosaurs – and more.

Children will be given the chance to ask questions and show off their dinosaur knowledge to the audience.

Ben’s assistant will roam the auditorium with a microphone and take questions from as many youngsters as possible.

Ben said: “We have all at some point had a fascination with dinosaurs or thought they’re pretty cool.

“I want to give families the chance to take everything they thought they knew about these ancient animals and discover the truth.

“We’ll be using the most recent and up to date studies to give audiences as many amazing and cool facts as we can.

“I have done talks where kids will stick up their hands and ask me questions I don’t know the answer to, so maybe I’ll learn something too!”

The show starts at 1.30pm.

Tickets cost £15.50, concessions £12.50. A family ticket for four, with a maximum of two adults, costs £54.
