A St Albans fire safety company has donated monitors, printers and office furniture to two specialist schools.

Amthal, of Hatfield Road, has gifted the items to Heathlands and Brandles schools after a local office provider closed its doors.

Heathlands is a nursery, primary and secondary school in Heathlands Drive for pupils who are deaf.

"We only have 70 students, and are funded by students, so budget is tight.

“Everyone was brilliant and we picked up some things we could really make use.

"We hired a van during Easter and I drove over myself from Cambridge where I live to get it!

"We are extremely grateful for what we have got and it is already being put to good use. Thank you so much on behalf of the students and staff.”

Amthal’s sales manager, David Williamson, added: "We are proud to have been able to coordinate this donation and help two local schools that are in need of furniture and essential supplies.

"As a local business, we believe in giving back to our community, and we are pleased that we could make a positive difference to the schools and enable enhanced learning spaces for these students and their teachers."
